QuestionHi,
I got a couple of dwarf rabbits about 2 months ago. Everything was great for the first month and a half, but in the past 2 weeks I have noticed one of the bunnies appears to have its nose peeling off. When I first saw it I thought it was a piece of the bedding stuck on his face and I tried to tug at it a little. My boyfriend was the one who stopped me and pointed out that it WAS his nose. The bunny also has some scabby-feeling bumps on the edges of his ears. The other bunny who shares a cage with him has clean ears/nose, but has a little scabby area on the lip. Do you happen to have an idea of what this could be? I clean their cage weekly, change their water bowl daily, and feed them bagged gourmet rabbit food (with a mix of fresh veggies) a few times a day.
Thank you so much for your help,
Merly
AnswerIt sounds like our bun may have a mite or canker problem. This is something easily treatable. You will have to go to a vet because the medicine is prescription and a proper diagnosis does need to be made.
This site is a really good resource for these types of things:

You can check it out, then make an appointment with a vet. These things don't take too long to clear up.
Good luck
