Question
I found a little of 6 wild baby rabbits 5 days ago right outside my front window. I saw the mother come and nurse the babies 2 days ago and she has not been back since. I know they say she comes at night when noone is around but she doesn't. I know this for a fact because everynight i put my camcorder on the nest and view it twice a night (yes i get up in the middle of the night to check them). Their eyes had just opened yesterday but today one of them came out of the nest and is hopping around my front door. The one outside the nest appears to be very week, well so do they other 5 and they are skinny. I am concerned for them i do not know who to call and i would like to help them. Please tell me what i can do i DO NOT want them to die, i actually named them all not even knowing what sex they are crazy huh?

Answer
It is really hard to say for sure with baby rabbits, but what I would do is contact a wildlife rehab center in your area (call your local vets they should be able to point  you in the right direction).  They will either be able to tell you what you need to do to make sure these little guys stay healthy or will be able to tell you what you need to do.

With wild rabbits it is generally best to help from afar so that you don't become any more attached to them.

However at this age (I a going to assume about 2-3wks old) they can start eating grass, hay, pellets etc. The biggest concern is water. So if you can set up a shallow water dish and keep it full for them that would be the best for a right now fix.

Good Luck
and I don't think your concern or naming of them is crazy at all, we need more people in the world with as much compasion
