When we were cutting the rabbits nails, he moved and then we accidentally cut too much of it off. this happened to two of its nails! i didn't mean to do it. then he started bleeding, so my aunt poured hydrogen peroxide on it. and it stopped bleeding. was this the good thing to do? another thing is, will my pets nails grow back to normal? I am sobbing. Even if this is accidental, i still want to know the answer to my question really fast. plz plz help me. And also, he is not hurt, well he kinda is, but he is eating and drinking water and eating his vitamin tablets. will his nail grow back? plz help me? should i go give him surgery to replace his nail or something?
Christina.
ANSWER: Dear Christina,
Don't worry. You're not the first person who has accidentally cut a nail too short, and you won't be the last. Once the nail stops bleeding (peroxide is okay for this, but not for much else), it should begin to heal up without incident. Just keep an eye on it for any sign of swelling or infection--which is very rare.
The nail should be back to normal in a couple of weeks. No harm, no foul.
Hope this helps set your mind at ease.

QUESTION: how much is it to take my pet to the vet for a nail clipping?
AnswerDear Christina,
Vet prices vary tremendously with area and with the procedure being performed. To find a good rabbit vet (a MUST!), use the list linked here:
