Question
I have two female rabbits, one is a big mix of rabbits and her name is Chewy, and is about 7 months old. The other one is a baby Mini lop rabbit named Lupe and is abut 2-3 months old. Neither are spayed/neutered.We got Lupe 5 days ago and waited two days to introduce them.Chewy was excited about a friend but two days later we let them out together in the family room, "which was Chewy's terrtory." Lupe halted in front of Chewy and Chewy lightly licked and sniffed happily but then mounted Lupe and started humping her, showing dominance and woudn't stop.We took them upstairs and the next day let them on my bed. Same thing over and over but Chewy started nipping her. So we took them out several times a day same thing, until today. It started out the same then, I startled Chewy so much she was more scared then Lupe. Lupe was sitting not looking at Chewy and a bit  checked them to make sure the vet was right about Chewy's sex and I checked Lupe too. Then I put Chewy next to lupe and amazingly they stayed sitting next to eachother still scared, later Chewy got up and started nipping at the ears again and a little at the back and then tried to push Lupe off the edge of the bed and lupe only weighs about 1 pound and Chewy weighs about 6 pounds. so i took them in. is it even possible to bond females because people say yes an no, i truely am on the edge about it, and i don't know that manys ways to bond them and i don't really want to get them spayed because it cost too much.is it even possible to bond females? i desparetly need help!!!! please respond

Answer
It is possible although very difficult to bond two unspayed females.  I suggest putting them in the same cage and taking car trips, putting them into unfamiliar territory and use lots of treats, and patience.  Under perfect circumstances it takes about a month to bond to buns, so figure you have a couple of months worth of work ahead of you.    It sounds like you are doing well so far, I would just keep them seperated if you can't watch them and just go slowly etc.. You may also try putting their cages next to each other about 2 inches apart, that way they become familiar with eachother even when they are not out together.

Good Luck
