Question
QUESTION: My rabbit just gave birth to six baby rabbits on sunday. I took  the male rabbit out that day and put him in a new cage. However, the cage I put the male rabbit in i built myself, it is larger than the cage the female rabbit is in with her babies. I was wondering if it would harm them if I switched their cages so the mother can have more room with her babies. It would be easier for both because the male is very active and can jump out of the new cage, even with it being 3 ft tall, it has a cover on it but he is very sneaky and can get out of anything but the original cage. I know mother rabbits need a lot of space and i feel the original cage is not big enough for her.

ANSWER: Hello, Katie

Normally the mother rabbit will not look after the babies if you touch on them. So I will say do not transfer them now when they are a bit bigger then you can move them. Like about 2 and a half to 3 weeks or so. If really wish to do so then try your best not to touch the Babies. like pick up the entire nest very carefully and move the babies first" when they are moved to the other cage as Quickly as possible gentley take their mommy over. Do it as fast as you can. Becuase its only to help the mommy and take her fear away and calm her!

QUESTION: Could i take the mother and father out of their cages and let them play together or would that cause more stress

ANSWER: Hello, Katie

You really seem to care alot for your rabbits hey! well its good!
Normaly wild rabbits only feed anf take care of their babies at night. It may sound funny! But thats what they do. Sometimes they pay a quick vist to cheack on them. So surely you can let them out. But always remember when you allowing them out it must be safe, not where their is danger for them. Also do not force her to come out as sometimes she may be a bit afraid! I also think it will be a good ideai to let them out to have free time!
