Question
hi, i've got a male house rabbit who's about 3-4 yrs old , completelt white with red eyes. he was perfectly normail until day before yesterday when he lost his apetite and is'nt that active as how he used to be (however he can locomote normally).i have started to get really worried since all vet stores in the society are closed for the next 3 days . i managed to feed the rabbit a little milk with sugar mixed and got him a grass to which he ate just little. He has stopped pottying and sits around in the corner for most of the time. Please could you advice to me how and why this has happened and if he'll get alright soon?

Answer
Dear Fazal,

I just now found your question in the question pool, where another expert had left it.  So sorry for the delay, but I only now saw your question.

Please read this immediately:

www.bio.miami.edu/hare/sickbun.html

for emergency instructions, and find a good rabbit vet here:

www.rabbit.org/vets

You must get your bunny there ASAP.  His condition sounds serious, and if he is not eating or pooping, he may be suffering from ileus:

www.bio.miami.edu/hare/ileus.html

which can be life-threatening, if not treated, since it can induce shock and other complications.

I hope this helps, but get him to the vet right away.
