Question
QUESTION: We have a 7 month old female jersey wooly, we keep her indoors. She has slowly had some hair loss around her neck area.. any ideas?  We thought maybe vitamin deficiency but not sure what.

ANSWER: well, I can't say for sure what is causing it sorry but I am having the same issue with one of my mini rex but he is chewing off his fur under his neck and it looks nasty I can only think that he is board but that is still not a usual thing that they do. where is the hair loss is it under her neck like she is over grooming or somewhere else? Look closely it could be roundworm if it is becareful it's one of the only things we can catch from our bunny's. Is your bunny getting the right feed and hay? does she have toys to play with and fresh water and a clean cage everyday? I hope this helps a little sorry I couldnt be more help if you have anything more to add or questions feel free to ask.

QUESTION: Thank you for your quick response!  How do we check for round-worm?  Is that the same as ring-worm?  Also, what type of food do you reccommend as well as extra snacks/vitamins.  Lastly, she has no toys, what type of toys do you recommend?

Answer
well, I meant to say ring worm not round worm sorry. I feed Manna Pro feed when I changed to it about 3-4 mos ago it was unbelievable the change in the heath and condition of my rabbits. Here is there web site http://www.mannapro.com/rabbit.htm I feed the show formula but have used them all and there great I also you there show supplement as a snack treat once a day and they love it. As far as toys you can get some or make your own here are a few ideas http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/toys.html I hope this helps
