Will he stick around?

Question
I have 2 hutches and 5 rabbits around 6 months old.  The 2 males don't get along.  The one male that runs around loose keeps coming back and I've grown to love him because he lets me pet and pick him up.  I'm thinking of keeping him and rehoming the others.  If he ends up my lone rabbit will he stay or would I have to cage him.  They are intact rabbits.  I'm afraid he sticks around only because of the other rabbits.

Answer
Dear Tom,

The best solution here would be to have all the bunnies neutered/spayed and then try to bond them:

The bunny may like you, but he is also coming because of the other rabbits, and if they have formed a bond (without you knowing), then it would be sad to separate them when they could possibly be a big, happy family.

If you do rehome any of the rabbits, be sure NOT to separate bonded partners, as rabbits truly can grieve themselves to death over the loss of a mate.  Observe carefully who gets along best with whom, and DO NOT separate them.

You can find out more about litterbox training and all the important things to make these bunnies house rabbits (where they will be safe and happy with you as a family should be) here:

Hope that will help!
