Rabbits: living in a house of poop

22 10:03:50

Question
Hi Dana, it's me again with the 4 bonded bunnies. We are back from vacation
and the week went well for the rabbits. Problem is that every morning we would wake
up to poop everywhere in the hotel room. I know this is marking territory but in the week we were there it never let up. I was constantly picking up poop. One of the rabbits seems to also have forgotten it's good litterbox habbits and now pees in corners. I'm doing my best to reinforce good habbits but could
you give me any pointers about how to get them to stop marking territory? I have them in one room of the house now but am afraid to let them back into my bedroom as the poop has not
stopped and I don't want to live in a house of poop, let alone sleep in it.

They are all neutered and spayed by the way.

Answer
Dear Rachel,

This might take a while, since the bunnies appear to not yet be secure in each others' friendship enough to stop marking.  But patience and time will pay off.  I can offer you some tips here:

but you might have to start from scratch with the excellent tips in this article:

For now, you might want to put litterboxes in the corners they mark, so they learn that they need to have a box wherever they do their business (and it's better than letting them ruin the floor).

Good luck!

Dana
