QuestionDue to the recent prolonged bad weather my cross breed angora male rabbit has spent more time in his indoor hutch, normally he has the run of the garden. In the last week he has suffered major hairloss above his tail under his belly and above his four limbs. He seems to be in good health otherwise and is his usual self.Could this be mites or a behaviourable problem as i hav noticed he is pulling it out himself?
AnswerHi,
it is probably due to boredom as his normal habit he enjoys he can't at the moment. Not getting enough mental stimulation, rabbits will self-immolate. I'd probably take him to a good rabbit vet to make sure he's not suffering from mites or fleas, especially if he hasn't had a checkup in awhile.
