How does a vet tell if a rabbit is spayed?

Question
Sure would hate to have one opened up only to find she's been spayed.

Answer
Hi Tom,

Depending on what kind of sutures were used when they shave the area they should see a scar.  Some techniques do not show a scar however most rabbit savvy vets will put a small tattoo on the belly to let other vets know that the rabbit was spayed.  Most non rabbit savvy vets will not perform spays.  Other than that the only way to tell is to go ahead with the surgery.  Depending on where you got the bunny it is most likely not already spayed.  Spay surgery is very expensive.  Most people that are responsible enough to get their bunnies spayed are not going to let it go without making sure it has a good home.

Good luck with your bunny friend.
