Iceberg lettuce

Why isn't it good to give iceberg lettuce to a rabbit. I have a new bunny and gave him some lettuce today.

Iceberg lettuce and certain other fruits and vegetables can cause serve diarrhea, which can possibly lead to death.

Keep in mind that your rabbit is domestic, not wild. Rabbit pellets are formulated to provide your rabbit with all their nutritional needs. Certain fruits and vegetables can be fed, but are extra, unneeded calories since the pellets provide all necessary nutrients. Fresh hay is one exception -- it can and should be fed at least once a week, if not daily.
