Question
we have a new zealand gray bunny who is approx 13 weeks old. we keep her in the house with a cage that opens to a little play area with a litter box., she has learned to pee in the litter box when confined but when we let her out she pees in a few "hot spots" she likes and lately she has been peeing when she hops., she also goes for the dog bed and poops on that, is she trying to give a dominant/alpha tone to the dogs? if we put her litter box out of the cage when she is out she will not use it, only in the cage., any suggestions for our bad bunny? we try to let her out 2 x a day to run around but she is still making a great mess.,plse let me know your thoughts.....thx, beth

Answer
Hello Beth !
Well Rabbits are very hard to train. She has learned to use the box in her cage but when she is out of it  she no longer feels  she needs to use it. This  does not make her a bad bunny.
Rabbits are territorial but mostly the Males ( Bucks ).  also she is still pretty young.

Keep working with her she may come around ! hope so .
Good luck.
