bloody discharge from both eyes

Hi have just noticed that our 6 month old girl bunny has a bloody discharge coming from both eyes, one is worse than the other. She lives with her sister and they never fight.  What is wrong with her and what should we do?

Dear Michelle,

Get her to a good vet immediately. This is an emergency, and the internet is not the right place to get help, as my instructions clearly indicate.

If she is acting sick, then she may have rabbit calicivirus, in which case her sister is also at risk.  This is a deadly disease, and all rabbits must be vaccinated.
