Answer
Dear Shyleigh,

Here are emergency instructions for initial care of the baby cottontails:

http://wildliferehabber.com/modules/wildlifesection/item.php?itemid=24

Please read them and follow the directions exactly, or the babies may die.  They are extremely delicate and susceptible to the germs on your skin and hands, so DO NOT TOUCH THEM UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY and always disinfect your hands with hot water and soap, well rinsed, before you touch them.

Most importantly, go here:

http://wildliferehabber.com/modules/xoopsmembers/

to find a wildlife rehabilitator who can take the babies and raise them safely until they can be released.  Baby cottontails are incredibly delicate and sensitive, and the chance that you can successfully raise them is vanishingly small.  Please get them to a qualified rehabilitator immediately. Don't worry about the bloody nose for now; just get them to a rehabber, who can take care of everything.

If you can't find a rehabilitator, then find a rabbit vet here:

www.rabbit.org/vets

who can help.

Good luck,

Dana
