Question
I have a male neutered rabbit of approx 6 months who I want to home with its unspayed mother(approx 1 year old), who we have just aquired. When introducing them indoors at the house where mother lived all was peaceful. They were content, hopped around %26 sniffed each other. On returning to the boys territory in his run, it was not as relaxing, after a short while! There was a chasing, biting %26 a little fur removal. They are now in different hutches adjacent to each other. Should I still persist...?

Answer
Dear Claire,

Bonding rabbits is rarely a one-date affair.  It must be done over the course of a few weeks, and always with careful supervision so the human caregiver can break up any spats that could get out of hand.

There are some very good articles here:

that will help with bonding ideas.  If the female is not spayed, this should be done, not only because it will make her calmer, but also because unspayed females have a very high risk of uterine cancer.  Once she is spayed and recovered, the bonding sessions will likely be more productive and less likely to end in violence.

I hope this helps.
