QuestionI have a 5 month old dwarf rabbit (Charlie) and I bought him
about 3 weeks ago. When I bought him, he had a little bit
of a wet nose (not dripping or anything) but it was a little
wet and had a slightly yellow crust around it that is only
noticed when you look up really close (he is also white
which is how I knew it was slightly yellow). He had no
matted hair on his paws so I figured he was fine. Since
then, his nose has stayed the same and he seems great. He
eats, drinks, poops, runs around my room doing binkies, and
comes over for a pat when he is happy. However, I read on
the internet that a wet nose for a rabbit should be
immediate cause for concern. Should I be concerned? Should
I take him to the vet? Also, how much does a rabbit exam
cost?
AnswerDear Karen,
Vet exam costs vary by location, so I can't help you there. But call around to rabbit vets near you:
www.rabbit.org/
to find out their rates.
I think it would be wise to have him checked, and possibly given antibiotics if the vet thinks it's warranted. Please see:

Hope that helps.
