I didnt know! Bunny had babies.

Well i have two bunnies that live outside in a big cage, and i saw that my girl bunny had made a burrow then coverd it next thing you know last week i saw five small cute baby bunnies, how do I know when the mother has let them go (like the signs)

Dear Bonnie,

First thing to do:  Get the male bunny neutered right away.  Mama is probably already pregnant again if they have been together, so this is very important.  

Mama will need to nurse her babies for a full eight weeks, so don't separate them before that.  If you do plan to adopt them out, make sure they go in pairs:  rabbits really need the companionship of their own kind, and siblings are already bonded.  Just be sure the new home knows that both babies must be spayed/neutered before they start giving "surprises" like the one you found that morning!

If the cage is big enough, you might even keep the "odd man out" baby, unless someone is willing to take three.
