Very thin rabbit

Question
My rabbit is about 6 months old and is a Dutch dwarf. When I got her 3 months ago she was in tip top shape and had no health issues. Recently she has stopped eating as much and she has become extremely underweight. I feed her a mix of 16% and 14% pellets (I mix them), she always has timothy hay but because of her weight I have started to feed her alfalfa hay as well as it has a higher protein and fat content. She is so tiny she has literally become skin and bones but acts completely normal otherwise. The closest vet that has any knowledge on rabbits is over 2 hours away and I need to know if there is anything I should look into here or if I should book an appointment or if this is common. I had another rabbit for 12 yets but she never had any issues like this. Thanks a lot.

Answer
Dear Kira,

Have you looked at her teeth?  If she is willing but unable to eat because of a severe malocclusion that's curling the teeth into her mouth, this could explain things.

If not, then you definitely need to get her to a good rabbit vet for a complete check, including bloodwork to see why she is failing to put on weight.

Hope this helps.
