Mating rabbits

Question
We have a buck and doe Havana rabbits. They are each 10 months old and we just mated them for the first time. We left them together for about an hour and they successfully mated. Our poor doe was making a lot of noise and got aggressive. Then a couple hours later we noticed her urine was very bloody. There is no other signs of blood in her cage. I am very nervous, is this normal?

Answer
hi Cindy she should be OK , just keep a good eye on her.
what i do is to put them together and watch them mate -if they do it OK i remove the buck straight away , this way he only stops with the doe for about 5 mins.
does can get very aggressive after mating so its best to take the buck away as soon as possible.
Dave.
