QuestionI have 2 holland lop rabbits. One is a female and one is a male. They both live outside year round. The past few days it's been about 80 degrees and they have done fine, I will give them frozen waterbottles to lay on. Today there is a heat advisory. It's supposed to be about 100 degrees outside. Can my rabbits survive in that heat if I give them frozen waterbottles? I don't know if I should bring them into my house cause i have air conditioning in here and it might be a big difference for their bodies.
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!
AnswerHi Kylie,
If you only have 2 rabbits bring them inside they prefer the cold air and it shouldn't be to much of a shock. Anything over 80 degrees is dangerous. Unless you have a swamp cooler or misters they really can't tolerate the heat. I wouldn't risk keeping them out there. Most people that have a large amount of rabbits in a barn have a cooling system. People that only have a few will put them indoors with the air conditioning or even a basement that is underground will be cooler than outdoors.
