rats and guinea pigs

i have herd that you can not have rats and guinea pigs in the same house is this true? i have three female pigs and my husband wants rats
can we have both?

I personally see no reason to not keep both as long as they are not mixed. It is true that rats can be EXTREMELY aggressive towards guinea pigs, but as long as they never come in contact, you shouldn't have problems. It also may be less stressful if they are in different rooms.
