Question
I'm looking for a parrot a little larger then a cockatiel, not too loud, is not prone to biting and is not timid could you reccomend one?

Answer
You just described the perfect parrot! hahaha

There are certain species that are less prone to screaming than others. However, biting and timidness usually directly relate to the way in which the bird was raised and trained. Birds are like children and they need to be well socialized and taught guidelines for proper behavior in order to be happy and well adjusted.

Some quieter parrots (that are around cockatiel size or a tad larger) are:

1) Pyhurra Conures (including green-cheek conures, maroon-bellied conures, painted conure and black-cap conures) ***These birds tend to be less timid than other species, but can be prone to nippiness***

2) Meyers and Senegal Parrots ***These birds tend to be timid of new things or new people, but are ...for the most part... lest prone to being nippy. They can however become extremely territorial or become one person birds if not properly raised and cared for***

3) Pionus Parrots ***Sexually Mature birds can be aggressive during breeding season, but are very even tempered for the most part during the rest of the year- if they are properly raised***
