what places take iguanas

i have had my green iguana since highschool and i am now entering college and i will no longer be able to take care of it. My family absolutely will not and i don't no where to find a good home for it, do you have any suggestions?

Hi Abby,
I'm sooo sorry to hear you have to give him up.  I suggest going through a rescue.  When doing so, its best to ask if they screen the person interested in adopting to make sure that person is going to care properly for the iguana.
There are many rescues...much depends on where you are located.
The rescue I am with screens all applicants and you would have the final say as to who adopts your iguana.  With us, generally the ig stays with you until a home is found.. Our link is www.scalesandtails.org  (not state specific due to policy)
