Hi. 7mths ago my sistes guinea pig had 3babys from the petshop me and mum sexed them and mum said 1was a boy and 2where girls we gave the boy away 2mths later sadly he died.3mths later 2of my guinea pigs where pregnet at seprate times.Right now Im careing for 1pregnet guinea pig now second pregnancy.And i wanted to know why millie was pregnet so i check the sex of the girls how where born with the boy how died.And they where difent to the other sows so i ask mum to check and i found out that they were boys.It was mitey a big surprise that after 7mths.Very sadly i need to give them away before aymore babys the name of thores 2boys were chalotte and maggie when we thought that they were girls.Well it was only a mistake no wonder they dont get a long.I whould like to ask that were would be the best place for boares to go to?all my friends have cats my cousin has a cat but has been looking after rats for more than 4years but her rats died she only looked after females that would of been sad for her i know so maybe i mite give the 2bays to her.What would be the best thing?.from kathleen

Good luck on the new momma cavy! Be sure you are feeding her tons of Vitamin C rich foods, alfalfa hay, and a good pellet food! I suggest Oxbow Pellets!

If you know that your cousin would be a good piggy parent then i would consider giving them to her, just make sure that she knows her stuff about guinea pigs and has a big enough pen for two boars ( approx. 2x3 ft. ). If the boars are bonded then you can keep them together but if they arent then i would defiently keep them apart or try and bond them together! If your cousin is not able to take them then i would consider giving them to a rescue or shelter and they would be able to rehome them to a great home!
