Guinea Pig Pregnancy.

Hi,
I have a 8 month hold guinea pig and I think she may be pregnant Because i have had a male guinea pig for 3 months in the same cage,I'm not sure but would she be pregnant after the 3 months being together,but she has gain just a little bit of weight and when she is sitting or lying down she looks a bit pear shaped may she be Pregnant.

it does sound like your guinea is pregnant, feed her lots of vitamin c and maybe adding some to her food each day would be a good idea. Pregnant guineas get thirsty just like pregnant women so always make sure she has plenty of water. Guineas come into season I was told every 16 days, if you are still not sure weather she is pregnant contact your vet because he/she will be able to tell you (I can only definitely tell you if I see her.) After 4 weeks of pregnancy you will be able to feel the babies in her tummy, don't do it if you cause her stress. Do not drop your guinea as you will risk losing the babies and maybe kill the mother.
