QuestionHi Tara,
I would like to get a ferret but most of my family is not comfortable with the idea. My mum and I went to look at some 8 week old ferret kits, and from that visit mum started having concerns about toe nipping, training young kits to not bite, and the smell. Can you tell me a bit about those issues so when/if I do eventually get a ferret I will know how to deal with them? I have researched and read a lot about ferrets and even talked to breeders, but my family is still not sure.

AnswerHello, Nothing can be done about the smell if you get one it will smell that way for tis life so if the family thinks they stink chan ces are you wont be getting one. Simple thing about teaching not to nip toes is to put viniger in a spray bottle and spray your bare toes and a few nibbles on these not so tasty toes the ferret will not nip them any more. Also lots of fun interactive *Safe toys will pervent the ferret getting bored and being "bad".
