Question
QUESTION: Hello there, my setup is ok, as this is not my first time having one, and, unfortunately, i had to learn the hard way...But now I believe my setup is much better. I just have a few question which i cannot answer thru resarch.
I have fed him a variety of food since he was about a month old, now he is about 7-8mnths old and he is 14inches. He is happy and healthy.
1. I was feeding crickets and superworms. My lizard has eaten all 1000 crix since he was more interested in them than the superworms. Now I have superworms left. Are these good staple? And i read somewhere, that I should inject calcium into them, how do i do that?
2. I want to get a timer as my schedule is different everyday. I herd there is a good n cheap one at walmart for 6 buks but i cant find it. Can you send me a link to one, or the name of the one that is in walmart?
3. I have been putting greens in his food for about 2weeks so that he get transition slowly to more veggies than protien, but he does seem to be eating at all the time. Ex, today he did not touch his greens, however yesterday i put pheonix worms under the greens and he accidentally ate some greens which waz good. How long will it take to get him to eat his greens regulary? The only thing I am worried about is him not drinking water from the bowl, I do mist him everyday and I do bathe him once in like 2 weeks.
4. My lizard is kind of chubby, im guessing this is a good thing. If you want I can put a pic of him so that you can take a look at him. He is healthy and active, always exploring when i take him out.
The first 2 questions are my main focus, so if u can help me out with those, I would realy appreciate it. Thank You very much

ANSWER: Hello, ill give you all the best answers that i am fully able to:

1. you really do not need to inject calcium into your worms, you can actually just feed him crickets as live food.

2. I am sorry i cannot send you a link to find one at a walmart, just look around in pet stores for cheap ones.

3. do not mist him at all, this can cause a certain mount of stress on the body and you should just let him soak in water for a bit. greens are important as i highly doubt your dragon will drink from a water bowl, my female does but it is very hard to get them to do it. Overall romaine lettuce is an occasional greeny diet because it is almost fully consisting of water and not much of nutritional value. This meaning they get their water form the greens, they love moving food because it will interest them into going for the hunt down. try to move it around, get his eyes to watch it, and get him to love his greens. DO NOT make the casual mistake that i have made many times by bringing my finger too close to his mouth, it will not end well, hurts a bit to be bitten.

QUESTION: well i have ordered 1000 crix and 1000 supers....all the crix have been eatn already, n i have alot of supers left...so i wanted to no if i can feed him on supers only? i read somewhere that they are fattening, and other places say that they are a great staple diet...
And i have tried to move around the greens but he still does not go for it. He knows that they are greens...When he is about a year old, I will avoid giving him live food until he starts eating greens. I have read online to starve them and keep green in his cage so that he will be forced to eat the greens. IS this ok?

Answer
Hello, i can actualy tell you what i do. My family does not make the most money and i have to rely on myself to buy my own crickets with weekly money earned. My bearded dragons (2 of them) actually have a main green diet, they only get crickets once a week. it is ok to only starve him a bit to get him to eat his greens but not.
