cut pad

Question
My dog cut the pad on her paw open on a piece of glass 2 days ago and i've been cleaning it by soaking it in warm water and betadine and i leave it to air-dry. Its really cut open and i was wondering how its going to grow over and if i should take her to a vet, my biggest concern is will it heal? She doesn't walk on it but it doesn't seem to bother her, all she dose is lick it to keep it clean.

It may be that your dog needs some stitches to close up her pad. Only your vet can determine that. I certainly would want her on some antibiotics if she were mine, and wrap up the foot to keep it clean and prevent her from licking it. (Betadine is not edible.)
