dogs food diet

i have heard that oatmeal(cooked of course)is alright for a dog to eat.is this true?

While oatmeal itself won't hurt a dog, it is not the complete and balanced diet dogs need.  The best thing for your dog is a commercial dry dog chow and little else.  this is what all the dog guides and service dogs eat, often Iams, Pro Plan, or other common chows.  I have been a volunteer for some of the schools for a long time.  Nobody is in a better position to know what is good for dogs or need to give dogs a long active life.
