Question
Hello!

I was curious about what your take on The Honest Kitchen food is.

I have been between a rock and a hard place in the terms of money lately and so my dog has been on some of the cheaper kibbles out there, much to my dismay (Chicken Soup  and Blue Buffalo, with a little bit of Core sometimes) and now things are starting to look better and I'm on the hunt to feed her better.

So my thought was to use Honest Kitchen and rotate in some dry every few days to help cut the cost. Is that a decent idea or no?

Do you like Honest Kitchen as a food?

Thanks for taking time to answer this!
Lindsey

Answer
Hi Lindsey,

A quicker-than-usual answer here today as I am running way behind with work at the moment.
The short answer is, I do like THK. Several of my list members are using it to good effect, I've researched the foods on behalf of clients and found them very high quality and well formulated. There is no reason not to rotate with a good dry food (of those three, I like CORE) and as long as your dogs are doing well, I'd say go for it. A lot of the clients I've formulated diets for ask me about a commercial diet to use when they can't home prepare, and I'm often suggesting THK. I've been wary of small companies who may not be experienced or formulating properly, but THK has passed my own rather rigorous criteria.  They have a nice variety of options to choose from as well. I'd say two thumbs up.
All the best, Catherine
