Question
Hi Melinda,
I found this site for the first site lastnight and want to say thanks for all the information you have gave me. I purchased 3 yorkies around 2 months ago to begin breeding. I have done a lot of reading and researching on these wonderful puppies, you have gave me more than I have ever been able to locate. I have 2 females and 1 male. Right now they are 15-18 weeks old. The male weighed in yesterday at 18 weeks at 3.4 lbs. The females weighed in 18 weeks at 5.25 lbs and 15 weeks at 5lbs. The male should not be no more then 3.5 lbs he is very small. My females will top off at approx 5.5-6lbs. Can you confirm that these approx weight factors are ok to breed? The male is a tiny tot as I call him and just a sweetheart. My females, one is smaller built but not skinny, the other is stocky built appears she will be the biggest of the two. I would also like to read any of your word docs I have seen you mention that you have on breeding if you would kindly share with me. Again thanks for all the information that you have given me. I will remain following any feedback on this site I can possibly find.

Answer
Robin,

Thank you for your Thank you!  It is nice to know that the time spent is helpful to someone.  Your male sounds perfect for your females as long as he doesn't get any bigger.  I would only see a problem if he were to become the same size as the females and then the only real problem would be that the puppies would be 5 pounds or more when full grown which would make them harder to sell.  I would be happy to send you the word document but I will need your email address in order to do so.

Sincerely,

Melinda
