Yorkie not in heat

Question
I have a yorkie that is 14 months old and has yet to go into heat.  I am wondering if this is normal or if I should be concerned of her not being able to be bred.

Answer
Duane,

It is not unusual for a yorkies first heat to take up to 18 months before it begins.  Once she has had her first heat she should be more regular ( probably every 9 months to a year).  If however, she has not gone into heat by 18 months then you should take her to the vet and have her checked out.
