Docked tail question

Question
I got my yorkie "precious" from a breeder in Jan.  Precious was born Sept. 9th 2007.  I noticed soon after we got her that her tail (docked) is "crooked".  It isn't straight.  It "hooks" upward.  Is this serious?  She isn't bothered by it and when I touch it , to brush her or just when petting, she doesn't react like she is in pain.
Suggestions? Advice?

Answer
Michelle,

How long is her tail?  The AKC states that the tail must be docked to a medium length and carried slightly higher than the level of the back. Without actually seeing her tail I could not give you a accurate assessment.  I can tell you that it is not normal for a yorkie tail to turn upward.  Is it possible that the tail was broken on the end and healed in the wrong position?  I would say that as long as you are not going to show her and as long as she is not in pain you really have nothing to worry about.
