QuestionMy female just delivered 5 puppies and they are doing great. The mother had an easy time but is panting and in some discomfort but is eating and caring for the puppies. My question is I think I feel another puppy in her but am not sure, what symtoms should I be looking for after she has given birth? We accounted for all the afterbirth from the puppies she had.

The uterus is usually swollen and can sometimes feel like a puppy. If she appears to be having contractions or is pushing, grunting etc. then she probably has another puppy. I don't think she has another puppy but if she appears distressed you will need to take her to the vet asap. She should not be in pain anymore so if she appears to be in pain I would be concerned about that.
