Question
Hi,I have a 10year old yorkie called Rosie and she has started to get a couple of little white cysts on her back, are these anything to worry about? Also, she has a fluid filled lump on her cheek. The vet said it is nothing to worry about but I am concerned about it.The lump looks like a sort of small white grape but it is getting bigger.I worry about her catching it on something as well. She is in good health apart from this. Are these lumps and cysts part of her old age?
Thankyou .

Answer
Diana,

The answer to your question is yes.  As long as you have taken her to the vet and he has looked at them and told you they are not a problem then she should be fine.  As Yorkies age they do get lots of cysts.  Some dogs get lots of cysts and some get very little.  It is dependent on the individual dog.

If you had not taken her to the vet I would have been concerned about the one on her cheek.  My first thought would have been that the fluid filled one on her cheek was an abscess caused by a bad tooth.  If it bursts you should take her back to the vet because it could actually be an abscessed tooth.
