QuestionI bought a yorkie from a petstore but no AKC papers were provided. I am able to register my pup under any other circumstances, and is AKC reg. really worth all the hype?
AnswerCynthia,
If you plan to breed your Yorkie then papers are a must. The purpose of the papers is to provide validity of a purebred status and for keeping an accurate accounting of the bloodline. If you purchase a dog and it does not have papers you cannot register it with any organization. If you are not planning to breed then the papers are not necessary.
As far as AKC papers being worth all the hype, only you can make that decision based on what you are planning to do with your dog.
