Question
I have two Yorkies Puppies that will not feed from mom and I have to feed them
on my own - can anyone tell me how long I have to do that?

Answer
Gabriela,

It depends on how old they are.  They can usually start eating on their own at about four weeks of age.  You can mix warm milk with some Gerber baby cereal, rice works best. At first make it very sloppy and as the puppies get older you can make it thicker.  You can try feeding them at three weeks but you will have to watch very carefully to make sure that they are getting enough to eat.  You also have to be careful that they don't fall asleep with their face in the food bowl because they could drown in it.

As always the best thing to do is to contact your vet so that he can monitor the puppies.
