Question
my 4 year  yorkie has a small lump about the size of a dime under his skin on the right side of his body . it is half way down from his head.do you know what it could be? thank you, Annie Ham

Answer
Annie,

Has he had any shots lately?  Sometimes when they get vaccinated a lump will form under the skin.  If that is the case there is nothing to worry about it should go away on its own.  If he has not had shots lately then it could be any number of things.  Because he is only four years old I would not worry about it very much.  You only need to be concerned about it if it continues to grow or appears to cause your dog pain.  Yorkies, just like most dogs, will get small fatty tumors.  The older they get the more tumors they will have.

If you see any changes in the lump you really should take him to the vet just to be sure it is nothing.
