Question
we have 2 yorkies and one is soft and fluffy with thick hair and the other has thin scruffy hair. is this normal for yorkies to be so different. we call them fluf and scruf just for fun

Answer
Hi there, yes it is very common, I have several coat types in my own dogs, some are thick and get matted overnight, some are so silky and straight they never tangle, it's just the luck of the draw. It doesn't matter the background either, 2 of my thick coated dogs are from Champions. One thing I have noted over the years is that often the yuckiest, skimpiest-coated, shabby looking puppy comes out with the silkier, straighter coat.
