Question
Hi Kim,
I recently adopted a 7 pound male miniature poodle from the local Humane society. He is 3 years old. My vet recommended I apply Frontline Plus but after doing a little internet research I am concerned about some of the side effects that others have described. He will be getting his first grooming on Monday, so I was planning on applying the Frontline Plus on Wednesday. Now I'm uncertain. Have you any experience using this on your pets? Any bad reactions? Thank you for any help/advice you can supply!
PJ

Answer
Hello PJ.
I have tried Frontline Plus on my dogs with no problems.  My Breeder friends also use FLP on their dogs and have since it came out with no problems.  You do have to watch certian breeds with the Frontline, but it should be ok for your Poodle puppy.
If you are still unsure, you can use Advantage which kills the adult fleas and apply Tick Off that is also from Advantage.  Frontline is probably the best in my opinion, but its up to you what you choose for your baby.  Call around to other Vets in your area and find out what they think about using FLP on your puppy.  Ask them about any reactions they have heard of.  Go here for information on tick treatments for your dog, including prices and prices for FLP.

I hope this helps you some.  If you have other questions, please feel free to ask.

Have a great day, and Many "Protected" Tail Wags.
