Lab colors

Question
I was told by a friend of mine that a Lab's intellect is determined in part by what color they are.  She told me that Chocolate's were the most goofy of the three and that black's were the smartest.  She said yellow's usually fall somewhere in between.  Of course this could change due to breeding and training but for the most part, is this true?  Are there any good questions to ask when picking a pup or things to look for?  Is there any way to tell up front when they're pups if they're going to be extremely dense and goofy or not?

Answer
Hey Sarah! No... none of it is true a lab is a lab and it's color has nothing to do with it's intellect so don't worry go ahead and pick the color you want! Anyways when you got he pet shop let him show you a variety of labs and start playing with them just to make sure they're young, healthy and energetic because normally that's how they should be. If you see that it's tired and not runing around don't pick and buy it! Also ask if you could have the dogs pedigree or at least look at it if you don't want to buy it to make sure its 100% Labrador! To answer your 3rd question no there is no way since all lab puppies are playful and are meant to energetic if they aren't acting that way at the pet store than there's a problem. You should expect a Labrador puppy to be very playful and always wanting to run about so take care and make sure you have enough time to give the dog at least 4, 30 minute walks a day were the dog can run around. Also make sure if you have a large enough garden to place the dog in because normally they like to spend their days outside running around all day! Hope this advice helps and don't forget to keep me updated on how things go... and if you do get a lab don't hesitate to ask any questions!
