Question
I would like to start cycling with my 18 month old dog, Kolo. She has loads of energy, and would like to burn off some of it (she will still walk her separartly of course.) Are there any tips you could give me about this? I've heard rumours of split/bleeding paws if you travel on roads. Does the vet need to check her first?

Answer
If she has been seeing the vet regularly, I am not sure she needs a special visit.  The big thing is not to over do it, especially at first, 18 months is still a little young.  Don't push her if she lags.  Keep an eye on her pads.  Carry water.  As the weather warms up, you may need to wet her down.  Many dogs love a swim.
