Question
How much food should I give my black labrador daily. My lab is male 2 1/2 yrs. old and is neutered. We feed him Purina dry food.

Answer
Purina isn't as concentrated as many food.  4-5 cups might be a good starting place.  Your dog definitely should be narrower at the waist than the hips and chest. You should be able to easily feel the ribs, but not see them. Each dog is different. Standard recommendations are a good place to start, but each dog must have its food and exercise adjusted to its individual needs. Labs may enjoy the larger portions of Purina they have to eat to maintain good body condition.
