skinny dane

my dane is almost 4 yrs old he is very healthy but is very skinny he eats a ton of food but i have a huge yard all he does is run i went to a cheep brand dog food to see if that would help but it did not what do you think the vet says he is very healthy and not to worry what do you think.   thanks

Cheap foods are not the answer, nor are the very expensive ones (someone has to pay for all that advertising).

Look for a dog food with a protein content between 15 and 20% and carbohydrate as high as possible.  Mix this with raw minced meat, tripe if possible.  Feed twice a day and restrict his exercise.
