What to feed a Dane

Question
I was reading about what you prefer to feed your dogs.  I am wondering if by "biscuit meal" you mean something like Bisquick here in the States or if it is something specific for feeding animals that I can purchase in a feed store?  My husband and I are getting ready to purchase a Great Dane pup in the coming months (the sire and dam have not been mated yet) and I want to get this pup started on the best ground possible.  I've raised Danes from birth to 6 or 7 years in the past and I've also rescued Danes from shelters as well.  I've always run into some foods being well tolerated by one dog, but producing runny stools in others.  I've also noticed that people (my mother in law) who like to spoil Danes with too many milk bones can find nasty surprises as well!  Thank you for your insight!

Answer
A biscui9t meal is a complete food and what we feed it made locally so is not available in the USA.  Do not choose the most expensive foods as they are charging you for all the advertising they do and the high profit margins they give to the retailers to push them

An 18m - 20% protein is quite high enough and we feed the pups on adult foods.
