Question
My female boston terrier is 10 days into her second heat, as we speak, she is with a male at his house, they also have a female that just had her second litter with there male, should remove the other female out of the room, he seems to be interested, but we tried mounting him on her and he wasn't even erect,we locked them in the bathroom together, do you think that will work? I will be picking her up tonight and bringing her back tomorrow and the next day. that will be her 10th 11th and 12th day of bleeding, How will I know if she is pregnant? and should it matter if we are in the same room as them, will they be shy? Please help me. Lisa

Answer
Hi Lisa - If it is possible to remove him from his other mate, that may help. If there is an area for the new bitch and this stud to be alone, it may help.  Also, you can ask the Stud family to give him 200 IU of Vitamin E per day for the next 3-4 days - helps the male to get interested.

As for your female being pregnant, there is a blood test the vet can do to measure hormone levels.
You can just wait and see.... there will be more than the usual swelling of the vaginal area and nipples.

Make sure your gal is on some good supplements and a quality food. If you want help, I can make some suggestions.
Also, Bostons are know for  needing C-sections.... just thought I would add that in.

BEST of luck
