bichon hair loss also refuses to eat

Question
My sis brought her little dog on her last visit and our dogs got along okay. She said her dog had to have some special food but she had checked to make sure that whatever was wrong was not contageous so she brought the dog down.  After a week her dog lost a big patch of hair and chewed on his feet pretty bad.
The vet said an allergy and a change of diet with no beef was what he needed so we did as we were told.
Now he is home and she is having a terrible time getting him to eat anything.  He still has a big bald spot on his back and we would like to know what you think.
Now my schnauzers (two) have lost their appetite and seem to be shedding clumps of hair.  Can you give us a had on what might be the trouble.  She has tried three different vets and lots of money and meds that don't seem to help.
We are both old and love our animals.  Please help if you can.

Answer
well to be fair it is not the beef, many vets state this due to misinformation supplied by some breedrs who uderstand very little about dogs they own or nutrition. I would take the dogs off all dried feed and commence with the following.
Wash all dogs in neem oil shampoo and condition in oatmeal conditioner.
Wash all bedding in neem oil shampoo too.
Supplements to use daily for all dogs:
1 x 1000mcg omega 3,6,9
1 tspoon salmon oil
cranberry extract tablets 1 daly

food

morning
50g ground oats
1 tp flaxseed milled
30g mashed carrots
20g shredded meat or oily fish

mix together with water and serve

meal 2

100g oily fish
20 g mashed carrots OR garden peas OR green beans

final meal

sliced apple
cucumber slices
peas
beans

this needs to be done for 12 weeks.

meats that are to be used within this diet are
venison, chicken, lamb beef, turkey duck goose elk, moose, pork,
fishes to be used
