Do you know what besides the vet could help with the earmites

My 1 year oldbasset scratches her ears alot and starts crying loudly. what couldit be and what should i do

clean her ears with a paper towel or tissue, if the wax is brown then take her to the vet it is probably earmites.

The best thing I know is to go to the vet because over the counter products do not always work. You can look for the stuff over the counter in the pet isle, or in a pet store, that treats ears. If you want to try it.
It more or less delays the treatment given by a vet.
