Question
Hi, I hope you dont mind me asking your advice. I am in northeast PA trying to get some education online in vet tech/science, and quite leery of what is advertised on the net. I am looking for course material that covers a broad spectrum while continuing to work full time (in a chiropractor's office) to pay for it. I am not aiming for a specific field just yet, but spay/neuter and adoption programs come to mind. Do you know how I can find a good program where most of the work can be done online or at home? I see you went to Delhi college. I am from Deposit, an hour away, but live in PA now. Small world. I appreciate any suggestions you can give me. Thank you for your time.

Answer
Hey Sharon!

Your best bet is to look for an online veterinary technology course. Thats the closest you will get to a real degree online, with some hands on work too.

If you are just interested in spay/neuter programs, contact your local shelter and see if they need help with theirs! Most are happy to have voulenteers! :) Even local veterinary clinics can steer you in the right direction.

I do know Florida state does an online vet tech program as well as Blue Ridge Community College here in VA.

I loved Delhi! It's been 10 years since I've been there, but what a great time!

Hope that helps!
